We know the way people buy cars has changed. Over the past few years, the balance has shifted away from showroom visits towards more of the buying journey being completed online.
Whilst most don’t purchase entirely online, 7/10 buyers have done (or want to do) most jobs online*.
Over 2/3 of buyers have, or would like to, get a valuation for their current car and pay a deposit to reserve their next car online*
Over half of buyers have, or would like to, complete a finance agreement online*
This has created a demand for a seamless omnichannel model, where sellers can meet buyers wherever they are on their purchase journey.
Ensuring that this buying experience feels connected at every stage of the journey is key to attracting and satisfying buyers in today’s market. Retailers with the best technology and most advanced data are the ones who will be able to create the seamless experience that buyers are coming to expect.
We’re building a solution for this blended approach
Our Deal Builder solution aims to cultivate retailers towards meeting these changing consumer expectations by providing a consistent online journey between buyer and retailer.
With Deal Builder, buyers can complete as much or as little of their ‘order’ online as they would like, directly through Auto Trader. An order can be submitted as anything from a reservation-only deal, all the way up to a deal with a part-exchange, finance agreement and delivery option added. This order will then be received by the retailer as a ‘deal’, which they can pick up with the buyer to complete any remaining steps and fulfil the order.
Deal Builder is currently being trialed with a select group of retailers in a BETA phase. We’ll work with this group to test and optimise the Deal Builder journey for both retailers and buyers as we continue to evolve the solution. Throughout this phase we’ll be asking for thoughts and feedback from those who are using Deal Builder day-in, day-out, to highlight how the solution can be enhanced or the journey can be improved.
