Auto Trader Connect: Year in summary

As we approach the end of the year, we want to express our thanks to our Partners and all the hard work they have put in this year to help create a smarter and more efficient automotive ecosystem. Throughout the year we have continued to evolve the Auto Trader Connect platform by enhancing existing capabilities and introducing new ones improving our offering to both partners and customers.

Let’s look at some of the developments made to Auto Trader Connect this year:

Auto Trader Connect – Valuations

In April we made our Valuations available to all car and van customers with advertising packages, enabling Partners to utilise Auto Trader’s market leading valuations within their stock appraisal, stock management and consumer PX/Sell Your Car platforms for all car and van retailers.

Advertisers API

Following feedback from Partners, we recently developed and launched the new Advertiser API which is currently in BETA. This service enables Partners to have visibility of changes to a retailers Auto Trader account status, as well as view which retailers they can act for and their advertising stock allowance so a retailers Auto Trader advertising is always maximised.

Introducing Retail Check & Trended Valuations

In October we made the new Retail Check module available to Partners which includes Auto Trader Retail Rating and competitor market insights. We have also enhanced our Valuations service to include Trended Valuations, enabling Partners to surface both historic and future predicted vehicle valuations in their platforms.

The development of these two key features together with our Valuations offering supports retailers to make smarter sourcing, pricing and disposal decisions.

Additional Features and enhancements to Auto Trader Connect

As we continue to improve and develop the Auto Trader Connect Platform, we have made a number of smaller enhancements and will continue to do so, but here’s a few key ones that we have introduced this year:

Electric Vehicle Data – Made battery information more accessible in stock records and introducing richer charge time data, helping partners improve the presentation of EVs online.

Sold lifecycle state Provided an explicit SOLD state, allowing Partners to accurately represent a vehicle state and align workflows across systems more accurately.

Source within image lists – Included the source system that images have been added from, helping Partners make better decisions about when to respond to updates.

Taxonomy faceting improvements – Enabled the ability to list available values for more vehicle attributes at multiple levels in the taxonomy hierarchy. Enabling Partners to more flexibly implement manual stock creation journeys that best suit their own applications.
