Introducing Trended Valuations in Auto Trader Connect

Forces of change in the market continue to make pricing volatile . Over the last 6 months we’ve seen retailer uncertainty gradually increase the number of price changes and the value of those price changes, resulting in a negative impact on retailer profitability.

Supply dynamics, demand for electric vehicles and expansion of clean air zones is creating more volatility amongst different fuel types

To help retailers navigate this challenge and improve confidence when making decisions we’re introducing Trended Valuations to Dealer Portal. We're also making the data available in Auto Trader Connect, so retailers have the option to access this insight in their preferred systems.

We’ve added Trended Valuations to the Valuations module in Auto Trader Connect

Spec adjusted historic valuations - Know what a vehicle was worth at dates in the past, across all markets including retail, private, trade and part-exchange.

Spec Adjusted Future Valuations - The Auto Trader Future Valuation is a forecast of what a vehicle might be worth on dates in the future.  It is calculated based on historic valuations, current market performance, seasonality and derivative lifecycle to forecast a future event. It can be used to show how various market valuations are likely to trend over time.

Adjustment for mileage rate - With mileage rate adjustment you can specify the start and end mileage for each trend, based on expected usage of a vehicle, and have the valuations adjust inline. This flexibility supports different uses, such as forecourt stock where you might expect the mileage to be static over a period, and pipeline stock where the mileage may increase.

Forecourt View of Trended Valuations in the Stock API - In addition to the above valuations we have also enabled a 30, 60 & 90 day forecourt wide view of Trended Valuations in the Stock API. This will make it easier for retailers to make decisions at a glance for all the vehicles on there forecourt.

Utilising this data to build a valuation trend

Using historic and future valuations you can create trended valuations to show pricing over time, giving retailers a better handle on residual values, profit opportunity, price sensitivity and margin risk when making key retail decisions.

Trended Valuations are now available to all Retailers & Partners and can be integrated via the Auto Trader Connect - Valuations module.
