We’re moving to the next phase of testing Deal Builder

As you know, over the last 6 months we’ve been working closely with you and select number of other retailers to trial the Deal Builder journey.

We now have over 500 retailers partnering with us on the trial and over 35,000 vehicles available to reserve on Auto Trader. Now we’re preparing for the next phase.

What’s next?

We’re continuing to test some changes to your adverts and to our search function to optimise the consumer journey and increase visibility of vehicles that are available on Deal Builder.

Here’s what to expect...

Changes to your adverts

We’ll be trialling some changes to encourage buyers to take that next step in their purchase journey. This includes a key change to the ‘Start your order’ button, plus we’ll  be adding prominent information panels to help guide your buyers into the Deal Builder journey.

Updating the Deal Builder CTA

We’re adapting the Deal Builder CTA to aid conversion into Deal Builder. The new button, which will read ‘Reserve for £99’, is designed to influence buyers to begin their order and complete as much or as little as they’d like online, before submitting a reservation.

New information panels

We’re introducing a new ‘When you reserve online’ information panel, which will be prominent on your adverts to maximise confidence amongst buyers when considering starting their Deal Builder journey.

We’ll also be adding a ‘Reserve with Auto Trader’ banner on your advert pages with additional content relating to Deal Builder to provide them with all the assurances they need about how the process works.

Changes in search

As we know, there’s an increasing appetite from consumers to complete more of their buying journey online. That’s why, over the next few weeks, we’ll be trialling changes to our search function to bring more digital-ready buyers to your adverts.

Labels on your search listings

The first of these changes will be made to draw more attention to Deal Builder adverts in search results. Going forward, we’ll be adding a ‘Reserve online’ label to your search result listings to give your Deal Builder stock more notability to buyers.

Further enhancements to search and your adverts, including testing a new search filter, as we look to improve the Deal Builder experience for both buyers and retailers.

We’ll be actively monitoring these updates to measure their effectiveness on performance. As ever, we welcome your response to these changes, so please reach out to your account manager if you’d like to provide feedback.
