Bringing New Car Finance offers into our API offering
As we continue to improve our offering for New Car retailers, we are enabling the ability for Retailers and OEMs to display static Finance offers on their adverts.
These offers will be displayed at a vehicle level and will override existing finance calculators on the advert. This allows retailers to display the minimum deposit and monthly price to purchase a vehicle on finance, providing consumers with better price transparency and confidence when determining if they can afford a vehicle.
What do Partners need to do?
To populate this information on the product page, retailers will need to fill out a mixture of required and optional fields which all Partners can now begin to map.
Tech Partners who wish to enable this functionality for their retailers will need to map these new fields in their own systems via the Stock API. Populating these fields will allow New Car retailers to display static finance offers on their adverts.

Benefits of the change & examples of how this will appear on Auto Trader and in Retailer Portal
Being able to display finance information to potential buyers is key to retailer success particularly for New Cars with 9 in 10 being bought on finance. Other benefits of being able to display static finance offers on New Car adverts include:
Easier to attach finance deals to stock items – This robust and compliant solution makes it easier for retailers to advertise their finance offers to potential buy.
Creates a better consumer experience – Displaying finance offers can help a consumer get a complete understand of what it will cost to buy a vehicle and allows them to self-serve the information they need about finance.
Meet FCA compliance and maintain consumer transparency – By displaying the monthly price on the advert, retailers can be more transparent with consumers when it comes to pricing and affordability and can advertise finance offers in a compliant way.

How the finance template functionality will appear in Portal, the combination of required and optional fields reduces the admin demand of the retailer.
We will begin communicating these changes to all New Car retailers w/c 24th February with the changes going live in Portal in early March and live on Auto Trader adverts from mid-March.
