Increasing visibility of “Nearly new” stock on our website
As we continue to improve our platform and make it easier for car buyers to find the vehicles they are looking for, we’ve increased the visibility of pre-registered vehicles on Auto Trader. This includes the introduction of a “Nearly new” tag in our search and making MRRP savings more visible in search.
The “Nearly new” tag will be appear for vehicles with less than 100 miles on the clock and registered in the last 12 months.
What do partners need to do?
The “manufacturerRRP“ field already exists in the Stock API and can be seen in our Developer Documentation here. All you will need to do is ensure that this field is available for retailers to populate in your systems.
If you are a data feed provider, you will need to enable the "MANUFACTURER_RRP" column in your systems to allow retailers to surface the MRRP savings on their advert.
Tip💡: You can use our Taxonomy API to surface the list and option prices which can support Retailers when calculating the net MRRP value.
This will enable them to surface the discounts they are offering on Auto Trader and highlight the benefits of buying “nearly new” stock to potential buyers.
In addition to being able to provide us with the MRRP, Partners and retailers that are integrated with the Stock API will be able to receive MRRP so you can surface this information in your own systems or on dealer websites . This can then be paired with the total price of the vehicle to easily calculate the discount price.
Adding this new feature into your own systems your retailers will be able to increase the visibility of their “Nearly new” stock on Auto Trader helping them to find the right buyers and improve the buying experience for their customers. In addition to this integration of the Taxonomy API makes it easier for retailers to access Auto Trader data in your own systems, reducing the need for dual keying and increasing efficiency.
The “nearly new” tag is now live on our platform and the “manufacturerRRP” is highlighted in our developer documentation but if you have any questions, please contact our Technical Account Management team on: integration.management@autotrader.co.uk
